Adam's players to watch: Bundesliga
8 players to keep an eye on this season
My players to watch series continues with the Bundesliga, starting another season of what’s likely a Bayern Munich title win, but without some of the usual suspects among the league’s younger stars. Among the monster departures from German clubs this summer are Jude Bellingham, Randal Kolo Muani, Josko Gvardiol, Dominik Szoboszlai, Moussa Diaby and Christopher Nkunku.
One bit of good news for the league is that none of those players signed for Bayern, but the moves definitely leave would-be contenders like RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen with major gaps to plug.
Of course, we already know quite a bit about some young stars like Xavi Simons (on loan at Leipzig), Karim Adeyemi and Youssoufa Moukoko (Dortmund) and Florian Wirtz (Leverkusen). I’ll try here to focus my efforts instead on players you’ve not heard of - or whom you’ve at least heard less about.
That in mind, here are eight players I’m watching closely as we head into the 23-24 season.
