Arsenal 5-0 Nottingham Forest: Instant Reaction
Arsenal win to regain their spot at the top of the table:
A beautiful fall day at the Emirates to regain the top spot in the Premier League.
Headline: The reset, gets things reset
After a run of just okay performances at the end of a run of punishing away twice a week schedule, Mikel Arteta said that Arsenal needed a reset.
Well, it looks like things are mostly reset now and things are back and happy.
This wasn’t a match without worry but Arsenal overcame an early injury to Bukayo Saka who was the spark early, the midfield and defense had some sloppiness (3 first half errors, one each for Xhaka, no. 5, and Gabriel) to simply dominate the match the rest of the way.
This was the easiest match on paper that Arsenal have had all season and it might be the easist they will have all season. It was the perfect opportunity to actually reset and get right and I am very happy to report that Arsenal did that.
It is good to see Arsenal put in a good defensive performance, outside of the errors Nottingham forest created just one shot on their own and had ZERO shots in the second half during regular time, with only a 3% shot coming in the 93rd minute to ruin it from being a clean zero.
You are going to keep a lot of clean sheets when you are able to do that.
