Our offense was poor. Our attacking style pedestrian. The shots not taken, way too many. The lack of killer instinct, just too palpable. In the end, we never got going this season and injuries derailed us, as well as officials. Bottom line, we need to start bringing in attackers and creative chance makers. We cannot rely on Saka and Odeguard to be our offense. We must have a real striker and we need more than 10 goals from more than one player with something like 20 goals from the striker. And, if I can offer Arteta one piece of advice, its this....get down the pitch with urgency. Create chaos in their box. Make them tackle in the area...stop trying to walk the ball into the net.

I think we need an attacking player. not necessarily a "striker/center forward".

in the 2023/24 epl season we scored 86 goals. this year, 67. a <19> goal loss!

perhaps we can count on players staying fit and boosting their goals scored.

Havertz: 4 goals less in the league. 750 minutes less. look for 6 more goals next season.

Saka: 10 goals less. 1100 minutes less. look for 14 more goals.

Rice: 3 goals less. 400 minutes less. look for 4 more goals.

Odegaard: 5 goals less. 800 minutes less. look for 5 more goals.

Jesus: 1 goal less. 900 minutes less. static.

this would be 29 goals more than this past season.

so, yes our offense was poor. but more in terms of the key goalscorers were not available.

trossard and jesus are probably static in terms of goals next season.

and, don't forget that arteta wants defending out of this player. gabby jesus had 9 tackles won in the attacking third in his first season with the gunners!

I’m concerned about the new medical director and nutrition staff. Since the previous director left, team fitness has been slammed hard with multiple injuries with players playing injured like Ben White last season and starting the season still injured. Why wasn’t his surgery scheduled June a year ago? Not only were players repeatedly asked to do community, hospital, and school events during flu season, holding hands with mascots despite the team already depleted by injury and illness. There’s public relations and common sense. Half the team, particularly Ødegaard and Havertz looked like POWs in Burma in December and January from flu and no recovery with newborns at home. Even Declan’s weight was down. Wheat and nightshades are inflammatory yet players were eating protein pancakes instead of salmon and drinking fruit juices which spike blood sugar. The team was small in number, ravaged by injuries on national duty and practice, with four hamstring surgeries. Did we not see Kai grabbing his hamstring in December? Why did we let Chido-Martin go from the Academy to United? We knew Martinelli was Wiley Coyote but someone needs to be able to keep up with him. Saka was double and triple marked. So frustrating. Partey’s red card was the CL downfall domino that forced a set up far from the Gunners’ best. I believe we could have beaten them if he’d played. I know we could have beaten poor Inter exhausted from domestic cups and the Scudetto race with Napoli. Arteta was right. We were the better team but Donnarumma was world class and Merino was forced to play midfielder for Partey. I’m still mad about his red card. The Trossard, Rice, and MLS ones were pure PGMOL garbage but Partey has played at the highest levels. That was so foolish. Not reinforcing with Watkins in January cost us the Champions League and at least giving Liverpool a scare on the way to the PL trophy.
