The January transfer window has closed with Arsenal deciding to not make a move this window, either in or out of the club.

This has gone over about as well as you can expected online with some understanding but a lot more frustration.

January is always a tough window to do business. The players that are available usually have some sort of compromise attached to them, making it a hard to time to find impact.

With the struggle to replace they are often a player that is unwanted by their current club and for Arsenal that makes it unlikely that they are good enough to make the impact you want. If they are still wanted by the club, it means that they often come with a premium to acquire compared to what you would expect in the summer window.

This being given that doesn’t mean that it is impossible to find players, it is just harder, more expensive, and more risky to do business during this time.

Arsenal got into this position because they have already taken a risk this season with the way that they have built the squad, deciding that in the summer because they couldn’t get the attacking targets that they wanted they would roll the dice with they have in the team.
