This is a big game.

This is the team in first vs the team in second, both teams have looked like the clear choices for best teams in the Premier League this season. Arsenal were the underdogs going into the season and have jumped out to a lead that puts them at very close to 50/50 currently to win their first title in nearly 20 years.

The teams play a similar dominate style and have a statistical output that is very similar this season in just how good they have been.

How this match will go a long way to determining who will this season’s Premier League title. This match probably won’t decide the title, there is another head-to-head match in April that could have equally large stakes, but this will likely put one team in the driver’s seat.

Let’s set the baseline, Arsenal have a 3 point lead having played one less match (against Everton at home). Over the remaining matches Manchester City are expected to pick up slightly more points putting the current situation into roughly a tie.

Because Manchester City have an advantage in goal difference that ever so slightly pushes the overall odds in their favor where they more often win situations where the points are tied.
