I think there is a magic number /week at which he might be worth having in the squad as an option to break down deep blocks, etc. but I doubt he takes a pay cut at this point in his career (not knocking him, just the way it is). His only next destination is back to Spain or to the Saudi league.
I think he almost certainly has to take a pay cut if he doesn’t end up in SA regardless for his next contract, it may just be more than I would want Arsenal to pay for a player I think would be in a smaller role.
100%, when I say pay cut I mean something along the lines of what we're paying Tomiyasu post-injury spell. Going from one of Arsenal's highest to just above what we were paying Eddie would probably not sit well with him. Although who knows? If we win something this season, that may convince him to stay for cut (heavy emphasis) price wages. Might even be worth it to preserve his value and ensure that we get *something* from him rather than him leaving on a free.
I've generally been against it and have wanted Partey gone for a while, but if you could bring him back on something like a 1+1 with a significant pay cut, why not? Back up for 6 & 8, emergency RB depth, both of which could be helpful if we're competing on 4 fronts. Would prefer that over spending Merino/Trossard money on a depth piece - it wouldn't block MLS and Nwaneri's pathways, would only be short-term commitment, and wouldn't need to learn a new system. Use the money to star hunt LW/8/10.
Basically depends on if he wants to stay in Europe - i doubt Atletico etc. would pay him 200K/wk.
not for 200K/week! when available, he's very good. but you would think that he's not signing for 100K/week on a new contract. how about offer feyenoord 45M for timber, pay him 90K/week like his brother and tie a 24 year old up for 5 prime years?

I would rather go along the lines of the latter personally.
i wonder if Q. Timber is on edu's radar? he sure looked good this week in europe.
