Film Study: Angelo Stiller

Another People's Choice steps into the spotlight

It’s been admittedly too long, but we’re back with another film study, and today’s subject is the second of three promised People’s Choice selections: Angelo Stiller.

The German midfielder is currently en vogue around Europe as he wraps up his second campaign as a starter at VfB Stuttgart, the first having included a surprising Champions League qualification. This season he’s been among Stuttgart’s standouts both domestically and abroad, earning him links (of varying levels of credibility) to the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool. Not bad for a Bayern Munich academy product who could never quite break into the first team, only playing 66 minutes for them in the 2020-2021 season.

Stiller joined Hoffenheim in summer 2021 and quickly established himself as a key player at age 20, starting 21 games that season. But the following campaign, he started only six times and was ultimately sold to Stuttgart for €5.5 million in summer 2023, moving immediately into a central role. The rest is history.
