How do Trossard, Rice, and Martinelli compare to the Liverpool secondary creators? And that's 3 secondary creators vs 4 for Liverpool, two of whom split time and one is having a down season

Historically speaking the one from the group of 7 who's created the most xG value (eliminating this season for Arsenal to get rid of negative skew) has been Martinelli, actually. Szo, then Tross/Rob, Rice, Gakpo, AMC. Keeping in mind they're all different positions.

Shot-creating actions don't speak as much to value of shots but SCA from live play more LFC friendly:

Szo, AMC, Martinelli, Gakpo, Tross, Robertson, Rice

I always like passes completed into the box, too:

Trossard (big gap), Martinelli, AMC, Szo, Gakpo, Robertson, Rice

Always good to remind that shot creation is just one element of player value, systems/club philosophy/position all play a role, for instance Dec playing 6 for some real minutes in there. But good to share!

You might as well have stopped the sentence here "now we may never really get a look at what “a full strength” Arsenal would look like" never mind chance creation. Just look at Leicester...they are crap and we could not find a goal till Meino came on

I could have, but the article was more about the specific criticism of the creation I've been encountering. Having to shuffle the front line will lead to clunkiness though, pretty normal. Trossard did have one good chance and another that he whiffed on.

Either way yes I'd anticipate more games like that at the very least until one or both of Saka/Martinelli return.

I was teasing...The article is correct in every way.
