The only episode of the podcast I have ever skipped. Why would I want to hear about how great Liverpool are, and what a good transfer window they have had, for half an hour or so on the Arsenal-centric podcast that I listen to?
In a week where we have had a 5-0 demolition of Leeds, seen our new striker bag a brace, seen a 15 year old (15!) play half an hour of Premier League football, and signed a player that everyone is very excited about and who has a huge emotional attachment to the club, surely there are other topics to talk about rather than singing the praises of our title rivals.
I don’t think that was the tone of the episode really at all but I can understand the sentiment.
Andrew is a pretty balanced and reasonable guy and I think gave some interesting insight into how all of the changes have affected the team. It’s very unusual for defending champions to have this level of churn and it does make the question of how good they are, especially right now before they face another really good team is worth exploring.
We have a more regular episode tomorrow back to regular service.
