Arsenal get the win and are hopefully building some much-needed momentum.

Headline: Lacking a cutting edge

Maybe this is a bit unfair but it felt like there was a lot of possession but the final ball let Arsenal down.

Arsenal racked up the territorial dominance but it didn’t turn into shots today.

I am probably being too harsh because Arsenal DID have the ball in the back of the net 3 times and probably should have gotten a penalty call. The offside was offside but ended up much closer than I thought watching live. The “foul” on Ward is soft, because you see that kind of holding happens on every corner and it is never called, and if you give that it feels very weird to not give the tackle from behind on Bukayo Saka. Oh well and thankfully it is a minor note rather than the story today.

Back to things.

Arsenal had 202 touches in the final third but struggled to get the ball into the box and have it stay there.

So much of the ball was just on the cusp of the box and the little daggers were nearly there. So much of the attacking play was nearly there. Arsenal will need to clean that up against Everton.
