This is going to be really short I think, it’s been a long day and do we really want to have an analysis of this match right now?
Headline: How can Arsenal react?
My concern about this match is a lot less about what happened in this match but a lot more about how Arsenal react to it.
From the start Manchester City just looked like they were here for suffocating Arsenal and created more than enough chances where it felt like they still had a little extra saved up should they need it but they never really did.
Arsenal have 5 matches left and the potential to put together one of the best points totals of any Arsenal team in the 38-match era. It is unlikely but Manchester CIty could also still slip up along the way and it would be great if Arsenal could at least potentially be there to take advantage should they stumble with their match list catching up to them.
The last thing that I want from this team is to have the lasting memory be a team that fades away after playing so well for the first 3/4 of the season. We all know the reason it might happen (the double injury to William Saliba and Takehiro Tomiyasu) but no one wants this team to end going out with a whimper. This run of matches is still no walk in the park, Arsenal last season they picked up just 6 points from these five fixtures (replacing the relegated and promoted teams) and I think it would still show something to be able to bounce back and not totally collapse.
