PSV vs Arsenal: Instant Reaction

It is a match that didn’t really matter so this is going to be short and sweet.

Headline: Mikel makes sure no one is especially happy

No kids.

No win.

Everyone comes away feeling a bit crappy about this one.

Arsenal had a couple of decent chances in this match with Havertz early and Trossard late (should have passed to Eddie? perhaps) but in between didn’t do all that much.

There was a goal scored and ruled out for offside that I don’t fully understand given that it was Kiwior who scored but looked onside. I guess Gabriel jumping for the ball is enough to be active which I guess he was given he did try to play it. If this game mattered I might care more.

It would have been great to play no first-team players but I don’t think that was ever realistic, it is a bummer that Arsenal couldn’t get or keep a lead late into the match because that might have changed his thoughts.

This match I think did highlight a few of the areas where Arsenal are a bit short at the moment, looking one or two light in both attack and defense. It will be a very interesting and high leverage January that could determine how far this time can go.

Stock Rising: No major injuries?

This was the goal today and I guess the mission was accomplished.
