Stat Scouting: Danilo
The links for Danilo from Palmeiras are heating up again with the January transfer window looming
Arsenal and being linked to Brazilians is the new Arsenal and being linked to French players.
The latest link is a rekindling of an old connection. In the summer Arsenal were interested in 21 year old Brazilian Danilo but were turned down because Palmeiras were in the middle of what became a title-winning season. Now that the season is over it appears that they would be interested in selling him for an offer in the range of €25m.
So with the heat building again, let’s take a look at what the stats say about the young Brazilian.
Danilo broke into the Palmeiras team last year and over the last two seasons has started 51 matches playing 48 nineties, that is pretty impressive for someone in his late teens and early twenties.
This season he has played primarily as a right-defensive midfielder in Palmeiras’ 4231.
He is primarily a left-footed player, so it would be interesting to see if he would also play in that type of a spot with Arsenal (it could also be really interesting to see Arsenal line up with an all left-footed midfielder if it was Granit Xhaka, Martin Odegaard and Danilo.
