Throwback Thursday: Finding a modern Santi Cazorla

Something fun and new, picking one of my favorite players and finding players who are most similar to them statistically

This might become a new item or it might just be one-time thing but regardless today I am going to use my player similarity tool and unleash it to find players that are most similar to Santi Cazorla.

For this I picked my favorite Cazorla season, which by its self was a tough task, going with 2014-15 where I think he was one of the best all-around midfielders in the world.

You might quibble and say he didn’t do enough ball-winning but let’s be real you don’t turn into the Premier League to watch people do good defensive work but rather to play the sumptuous passes and silky dribbling that Cazorla was able to provide.

So let’s look at who comes out on the similar players list.
