You’ve seen it everywhere by now. On Twitter, BlueSky, probably Sky or TNT or wherever you get your football fix…After Saturday’s draw to City, Arsenal now have played 13 matches where Declan Rice and Mikel Merino have explicitly started in midfield (not with Merino at 9).

Those results (Scott was kind enough to post): 3 wins, 6 draws, 4 losses. That’s 15 points from 13, or about a 44-point pace. Not good enough, and pretty damning, right? Well…
