I would be really interested to see how this market develops. I don’t know if a mega club is going to come around for Felix.

Of the big clubs maybe United or Chelsea... outside of that really not sure. City are set, Newcastle just splunked on Isak but I guess could because money doesn’t matter there. Liverpool just got Darwin. Spurs have Kane and brought in richarlison. Barca just got Lew. Not sure Atléti sell to Real. Bayern got Mane. PSG don’t really need an attacker and who knows how much Qatar cares now that the World Cup is done. The Italian teams are still all in bad financial shape.

I don’t know if this gets close to the number Atléti want because I am not sure there is a rich team that’s dumb and desperate.

I am watching with interest because like you mentioned if this gets into bargain range... I give this less than 5% odds

I think there would be a move for Felix as Atleti has no Europe and the player manager relationship is broken. But not sure if that's going to be a permanent one. A loan with option or obligation is what I expect.

I don’t doubt teams would want him, I would have doubts that what Atléti value him matches what other teams would.

Great read. Our next mega signing (high fee + wages) needs to come at the 6 for me if we want to compete with City (Rodri + Phillips??!) over the next few years.

Rice for me.

I agree with whatever has been quoted in article. If I was in Edu's position I would be more inclined to pitch this at this like a loan signing to player and Atleti. For Player: it would be an opportunity to get enough playing time (as u said his versatility would help) and if nothing else chance to put himself in shopping window. Also there has been murmurs about Simeone continuing @Atleti (contract only till 2024)

From Atleti : the issue as I understand is not with Felix and club but player and manager. so if Simeone walks away they still would be in a position to integrate Felix back to Atleti. If not, he is a hot prospect who would've suitors in summer irrespective.

Yes the wages would be an issue which would need to be sorted.

Great article, this one feels spurious. Another highly unlikely move, but wouldn’t Goncalo Ramos (or similar profile) be a better squad fit in any case? Congratulations on your personal news too!

Financially yes, but I have a hard time seeing them bring in a striker-only for the same reason insiders say they’re hesitant to recall Balogun: the role just isn’t that involved beyond March 1 or so. A bit like buying a new car because yours is in the shop.

(And thank you!)
