Also it’s worth noting that Mikel will almost certainly evolve and adapt through the season which will mean different sides for different challenges. With the acquisitions he can do that now. Will he stay with a single pivot or will he move to a diamond or box midfield. My strong suspicion is Kiwior will play more minutes than you think at LB for example. He has so many options now.

Hard to argue with most of these, well thought out. I do think Nketiah will get a bigger share of the striker minutes but that is nit-picking.

Really interesting, if things go the way Mikel wants I suspect none of the defenders will be getting more than 2000-2500 minutes a la City. But let’s see.

I think assuming ESR gets more minutes than Nelson is a bit of a leap on recent evidence, but not a wild one.

What would be really interesting is to look at how much rotation that clubs do is based on injury or tactical choices. EG, the bulk of Eddie's 22/23 minutes were from the period when Jesus was injured. What % of his minutes came from normal use? And how would that extend to other players / spots on the depth chart?

You’re not necessarily wrong. I think with Nelson I sort of see him as behind more people on the depth chart right now
