My view is that the fans complaining about Arsenal, are fans that have come lately to the club during the Arteta era. Having been a fan since 1970, I can assure you that there is nothing to be upset about at this moment. This is the most complete squad we have ever assembled, and that includes the Invincibles years. Just enjoy the football. We are in for a treat this year.

I am still very optimistic about this team. I feel like we got cheated last year for what could have been and the team this year could be even better than that and offer even more issues

I think the frustration in the first half was finding that we were just watching last season’s team that had not moved on at all. The question was why to play that group of players when the whole point of this time period is to introduce and integrate the new players.

This was not done until deep into the match when the opportunity to influence the game was gone.

It just seemed to be a real waste of time watching a “replay” from last season with all of its painful memories (as well as some amazing ones too).

Yeah getting new players integrated is one of the points of preseason and it did happen like you pointed out quite late (outside of Norgaard).

I think this was a game where we were pushing to get more players closer to the 90 minutes of fitness levels. Given the start of the season maybe that is the right call.

There is a bit of how much do you want to show off new wrinkles to a team you'll play in a few months factor as well. It is part of why I hate the playing PL teams in preseason. Maybe we will see more against the Spanish teams next week.

Maybe lack of fitness played a part
