Transfer window discourse is always hysterical, not in a funny way, more in a crazy way. This is why I generally pay no attention to or get attached to the idea that any particular player will join us. How many seasons did I pine for Higuaín after all?

Really good post, even better than the usual very high standard.

What about Marcus Rashford? He seems to be having a "Roman spring" at Villa. At 28, this fall,

he's a perfect age. Not to mention that he's played less in the last two years than a full calendar due to his lack of national team minutes.

Honestly I'm really not interested in Marcus Rashford. He carries such a heavy cost and isn't particularly suited for Arsenal's style of play. Seems like things might be working out for him at Villa, and they have an option to make that permanent, maybe that works for everyone.

what are the costs involved? i've read a fee of 60m + salary?

although capology states that his contract ends on 6/30/25. can he really command more salary going forward? swap sterling's money plus another 100K/wk??

how is he not suited to playing out wide on the left and taking players on? plus he is as adequate as our other options at the 9.

What Capology is referring to would be his loan agreement with Villa, he's on more than 300k per week of which Villa is paying about 75% through the end of June. Unless he's desperate he's unlikely to take a significant wage cut, and the fee won't be very small either. I think he's a far better player when he's able to do a lot of running in behind and attacking space (game this week being a great example) and less pressing and tracking back like we ask of our left wing. Effort off the ball has been a consistent issue.

Remind me again why Arsenal didn’t purse Victor Osimhen? Age? Injuries? Not humble enough for the Arsenal? These two young men seem very expensive for no guarantees. I can see why Arteta wanted Premier League proven, intelligent Alexander Isak.

I don't personally have any actual information but my guess would be related to wages and his people. His agent really seems to have scared off any interest in him last summer. We will see what happens with another go-round.
